The Haus boutique hotel located in the middle of Main Street Lake Placid, on the shores of Mirror Lake is ideally situated to accommodate the well heeled traveler. Discerning yet simple decor round out this modern lodging establishment providing ample suites for guests who know what they want. For the same luxury amenities and price as a resort hotel room in Placid, The Haus offers us more than double the space and a full sized kitchen equipped to cook whatever you usually do. This simple operation serves up 10 white clean, home away from home apartments with modern furnishings. About the interior, crisp black and white Adirondack photography intensionally draws our gaze out to the magnificent lake and mountain views from their water front rooms. The five storey, 1904 building was fully refurbished in 2008, with fireplaces, bathrooms, kitchens, windows and electrics brought up to date, yet the arched windows and huge, tall balconies off the lake side remind us of its original victorian heritage.
The lodge is not for everyone. It has no common areas to hang out nor restaurant to meet; there is no elevator, nor do they allow pets. Though attentive to guest needs there is no 24hour desk nor on site parking. When you arrive they will help you with your baggage, assist you with parking close by, show you the free WiFi access and answers any questions you may have but beyond the daily housekeeping that’s it. The interesting point about it though is that everything is right outside the front door. There are dozens of restaurants, and a fat handful of ice cream parlors, coffee shops, bakeries and confectioners to choose from. Eastern Mountain Sports next door, is ready to help outfit and plan your next mountain and lake excursion; Ere’s pizzeria is down stairs, a first run cinema, new play ground and the famous Great Adirondack Steak and Seafood craft brewery can be found across the street. In the Summer Mid’s Park adjacent the South side of The Haus, offers live contemporary and classical music performances weekly in the beautiful new band shell by the lake. They are really good. If you are lucky you may have a balcony view from your suite! This village green space is the sweet spot for many of Lake Placid’s annual events from July 4th fireworks to Christmas celebrations and athletic showcases.
We look forward to welcoming you at our full-service Lake Placid Haus Boutique Hotel soon.
